Mumbai Indians and Kieron Pollard is undoubtedly one of the matches made in heaven. Ever since the franchise signed the Trinidadian all-rounder in 2010, they have never let go off him. While so many players came and left, Pollard stayed at MI and played a key role in guiding the franchise to five IPL titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020). With a mega auction in line to take place ahead of IPL 2022, the 34-year-old has made it very clear that he doesn't wish to play for any other franchise and want to hang up his IPL career with Mumbai Indians.

Will MI retain Pollard ahead of mega auction?

The explosive all-rounder is the most capped player for Mumbai Indians, having played 192 matches. Pollard has 3667 runs to his name in addition to 72 wickets as well. He has certainly shown no signs of ageing as he recently played another mindboggling knock of 87 runs from 34 balls against CSK in first half of IPL 2021.

In a conversation with Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz, he talked about his future plans. "I would just love to play and finish with Mumbai Indians," said Pollard. The all-rounder also revealed that he always wants to stand up in big games and big moments for his team, something he has done throughout his MI career.

As IPL 2021 is set to resume in UAE, it will be interesting to see if Kieron Pollard can power Mumbai Indians to a hat-trick of titles. It will also be intriguing if the franchise retains his services for the next edition ahead of the mega auction.
