The cricket boards have reached Dubai for the ICC's quarterly meeting, which will get culminated on April 10. Several important matters will be discussed, ranging from Women’s Cricket, Asia Cup fate, Afghanistan cricket, and will hear the proposal from PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja as well.

In January 2022, Ramiz Raja shared his proposal of hosting a four-nation super series featuring India, Pakistan, Australia and England on this official Twitter account. In this proposal, all the four nations will be playing a single league tournament annually.

Ahead of the ICC meeting on April 10 in Dubai, Raja had given an indication to talk with the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. During a media interaction, he had said, 'I'll talk to Ganguly regarding a four-nation tournament. The future of cricket is in triangular and four-nation competitions. Twenty20 leagues are taking away eyeballs from bilateral cricket, of which the novelty factor is decreasing. ”

However, it is highly unlikely that the ICC will approve the proposal from Ramiz Raja, as reported by Cricbuzz. This is due to the complications involved in hosting a series between India and Pakistan. The political situations in both countries will be a big hurdle to cross for the cricket action to be resumed.

The other factor is related to how the other 8 full members of the ICC will feel about not having to participate in this tournament during an all-important meeting.
