There is no second doubt regarding the fact that India and Royal Challengers Bangalore star Virat Kohli is a fitness freak. The right-handed batter is often credited with revolutionalising the fitness standards in the Indian cricket setup and when he became the captain, he led from the front, setting high standards of fitness himself.

However, in the ongoing match between SunRisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants, cricketer turned commentator Harbhajan Singh has made a bold statement. The legendary off-spinner said that if there is anyone who can beat Kohli in fitness, it is Rahul Tripathi.

Notably, Bhajji was Tripathi's Kolkata Knight Riders teammate in IPL 2021. However, while the veteran cricketer decided to call it quits before IPL 2022, Tripathi was not retained by KKR ahead of the mega auction. Consequently, the Maharashtra cricketer was included by the Orange Army in the auctions.

Perhaps Harbhajan's statement might have come from his personal experience seeing Tripathi train during their time together at KKR. As far as cricketing action is concerned, Hyderabad had played just a solitary match before their game against Lucknow in which they had faced a cracking defeat.

Even in this game, which could still go either way, Tripathi is playing a crucial innings for his side after they lost early wickets chasing 170. The ex-Rising Pune Supergiant batter would ideally want to finish off the chase and then return to the dressing room. Irrespective, a thrilling finish to match number 12 of IPL 2022 awaits us at Dr DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
