As Michael Chandler defeated Tony Ferguson in the co-main event of the UFC 274, he called out the Notorious one Conor McGregor for his next bout. Chandler shouted, “Conor McGregor, you’ve got to come back and fight somebody. I am the most entertaining lightweight on the planet. But I want to up the stakes, Conor. I want you at your biggest, I want you at your baddest and I want you at your best. You and me at 170 this summer, this fall, this winter. Holler at your boy!”

Just hours after Chandler's challenge, McGregor took to Twitter and responded in style. He then expressed that he would love to fight the ‘Iron Mike’ at some point in his career. The Mystic Mac tweeted, “I’d have a nice knock off this guy, no doubt about it. A firework spectacle. I like the 170 shout also. Tipped him over. I’m definitely game to fight this guy at some stage in my career. I see it happening after tonight. Congrats on a solid win Michael and another barnstormer.”

There was a lane right up the middle. I didn’t train it that much: Chandler

Chandler made quick work of Tony Ferguson in the bout as he knocked him out clean with an insane front kick in the early moments of the second round. While addressing the knockout,   he said, “There was a lane right up the middle. I didn’t train it that much; it just happened,” an exuberant Chandler said in the Octagon after the fight. “He’s so long, but he keeps his hands to the side and so there was a lane up the middle,” he continued.
