India and West Indies kicked off their three-game ODI series at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain. The Men in Blue started the match incredibly as captain Dhawan led the way and scored 97 runs. Other than Dhawan, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer scored crucial runs to take the total to 308.

Like India, the Windies also had a great performance with Kyle Mayers and Brandon King scoring half-centuries. Towards the end of their innings, Romario Shepherd and Akeal Hosein put in an incredible finish as they nearly chased the total but fell short by three runs in the end.
