The Men in Blue have started assembling in Mumbai ahead of the much awaited tour of England. With the BCCI informing about the hard quarantine the Indian contingent will be following before they leave for England, the players from the men as well as women’s team are on their way to Mumbai.

KS Bharat roped in as Wriddhiman Saha’s cover

Amidst all this development, there is a big news coming from the board. Wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat has been roped in as a cover of Wriddhiman Saha. Bharat will be travelling with the Indian squad to UK for the upcoming World Test Championship final & England series.

This decision comes after Wriddhiman Saha recently tested negative for COVID-19 after testing positive twice during the course of time.

“He was added as cover for Saha considering he was still recovering fromt he virus and wicket-keeping is a specialised job. If Saha wasn’t fit in time, we would have needed a second keeper in the squad for the tour which is a three-month long one,” quoted a source as speaking to ANI.

The Indian team is set to leave for England on June 2. Notably, this is the first time in history that both the men & women’s team are travelling together due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
