As Kidambi Srikanth defeated Jonatan Christie in two games to help India win its maiden Thomas Cup in the history of the tournament. Srikanth stormed through the first game to win 21-15 where he dominated as he had the most consecutive points with 12. He came back from a five-point deficit to win the second game and clean sweep Indonesia 3-0 to lift the Thomas Cup.

The World number 11 has been incredible in the Thomas Cup so far, especially in the semi-finals where he defeated Danish shuttler and current world number three Anders Antonsen. But Srikanth triumphed as he registered a 21-19 19-21 22-20 over second seed Antonsen in a strenuous match on Friday night.
