Ever since 2012 when India-Pakistan played their last bilateral series, the fans across two nations have been craving to see these two action-packed sides battle against each other regularly. Due to political intervention, India and Pakistan have not been playing against each other except for ICC tournaments and Asia Cup. However, it looks that the decade-long wait is finally coming to an end with PCB Chief Ramiz Raja set to propose a deal to International Cricket Council.

As per the proposal, it will be a four-nation T20I series between India, Pakistan, Australia, and England every year. PCB Chief wants the series to be hosted on a rotational basis with a separate revenue system where revenue is distributed amongst all ICC members. The 59-year old Raja had earlier hinted on plans to bring two nations together with three-nation series involving India, Pakistan, and on off Australia and England.

Ramiz Raja took to Twitter late evening on 11th January 2022 and said, “Hello fans. Will propose to the ICC a Four Nations T20i Super Series involving Pak Ind Aus Eng to be played every year, to be hosted on rotation basis by these four. A separate revenue model with profits to be shared on percentage basis with all ICC members, think we have a winner.”

Here’s the tweet

India and Pakistan last met in ICC T20 World Cup 2021 where Pakistan outclassed Indian team in all departments and registered an emphatic 10-wicket victory. Further, irrespective of whether ICC agrees to the proposal, India and Pakistan will at least be seen against each other twice in 2022. At least once in Asia Cup and once in T20 World Cup 2022 which is scheduled to be played in Australia later this year.
