Team India are on the brink of elimination post the shambolic defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand, respectively. The side struggled with bat and bowl in both games, resulting in two heavy defeats in two games. Although Team India are virtually out of contention for the semi-final spot, there is still a mathematical chance for them to qualify.

Team India desperately need a big win against Afghanistan to still be in contention for the final 4 spots and therefore, team management has decided to make some changes in Playing XI ahead of the big clash.

Ashwin set to replace Shardul Thakur

Post India’s defeat against New Zealand, many cricket pundits questioned Ravichandran Ashwin exclusion from the playing XI. However, it seems team management has finally decided to give the experience off-spinner a game. According to reports, Ashwin is set to replace Shardul Thakur in playing XI in a must-win game against Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, who was replaced by Ishan Kishan due to an injury, is set to return in the playing XI.

Notably, Team India need to win all their remaining games and expect New Zealand to lose a game to have any chance of qualifying for the semi-final.

India is set to face Afghanistan on November 3rd.
