With not much time left for the T20 World Cup, BCCI has planned two T20I series for Team India to strengthen their preparations for the ICC tournament. The seventh edition of the tournament is set to be held in the month of October-November. Team India already have a jam-packed schedule ahead of the tournament, with the side currently playing a 5-match T20I series against England at Narendra Modi Stadium.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) already round-the-corner, players will definitely have a chance to prepare ahead of the major T20 event. Amidst this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently looking to organise T20I series at home against South Africa and New Zealand.

“South Africa and New Zealand are scheduled to come to India to play a couple of T20I series before the World Cup. The modalities are to be finalized. The board is aware that the team needs to be in touch with the format before the Cup starts,” a senior BCCI official was told as saying to TOI.
