After India registered a comprehensive win in the ODI series opener against England, the two sides get set to lock horns for the second contest. While Virat Kohli and Co. would want to clinch the series on Friday, the visitors would come out all guns blazing to take the series to a decider. With so much at stake for both the sides, it is expected to be another mouth-watering clash between the top two ranked teams in ODI cricket.

Pitch Report:

Team News:

India:

Shreyas Iyer subluxated his right shoulder in the first ODI and has been ruled out of the series. While Suryakymar Yadav is in contention to replace him, Rishabh Pant is also an option for India. While Rohit Sharma seems to be fit after suffering a blow on his elbow, there is also a likely possibility of Kuldeep Yadav giving way for Yuzvendra Chahal.

England:

While Sam Billings suffered a shoulder injury on Tuesday, Eoin Morgan split his webbing between the right thumb and index finger. Both the players are slightly doubtful for the second ODI. Liam Livingstone is in line to make his ODI debut while there could also be an opportunity for Matt Parkinson or Reece Topley.

Key Players:

Analysis:

KL Rahul finally found his form back with an unbeaten 62-run knock to take India's total over 300 on Tuesday. The wicketkeeper batsman will have to play a crucial role in India's middle-order, especially in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. While Hardik Pandya did not have a great game, Krunal Pandya announced himself to ODI cricket in style. With a fifty and a wicket to his name, the elder Pandya would be one of the players to watch out for. While Virat Kohli has registered four 50+ scores in his last five outings (T20Is and ODIs), he would be raring to convert it into a century.

Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy were phenomenal at top of the order in the 1st ODI, adding 135 runs in 14.2 overs. They will have to play a crucial role once again if England wants to level the series on Friday. Ben Stokes took 3 wickets in the first ODI and is playing at No. 3 for the visitors. The all-rounder could certainly come up with a match-winning performance in the all-important clash. In the bowling department, Mark Wood is going to be the player to watch out for.
