Team India are well and truly alive in the five-match T20I series against South Africa. The Men in Blue have played their best cricket with their backs against the wall in recent times and they showed that once again in the third T20I in Visakhapatnam. Needing a win at all costs to stay alive in the series after losing the first two matches, the Rishabh Pant-led team registered a dominant win by 48 runs in the third T20I on Tuesday.

However, the job is still not done. If they want to win the series the hosts would have to win their remaining two matches the first of which is set to be played on June 17 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Ahead of this match, here is a stat-based prediction of how things could unfold in this fixture.

1. Toss Prediction

Rishabh Pant has failed to win a single toss in the series so far. Luck seems to have deserted him and going by this trend it could be hard for India to win the toss again on Friday. Predicting South Africa to win the toss.

2. Win Probability

While it looked like South Africa will run away with the series in Visakhapatnam, India bounced back in the third T20I and made the series interesting. The home team has a better head-to-head record against this opposition and will also have the backing of the fans as well as better knowledge of the conditions. With a win against their name, it might instill the belief, especially among the bowlers which seemed to have been lacking in the first two T20Is. So based on these considerations, India seem to have a better chance of winning this match.

3. Team of the Day

The Team of the Day is India. Their batters have been in great form and the half-century from Ruturaj Gaikwad will solve the few questions that were being asked about his form in international cricket. Rishabh Pant would like to chip in with a big score and so will Dinesh Karthik. The bowlers led by Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal were effective and would want to produce the goods for the team yet again.

4. Powerplay Score

India scored 51 in the powerplay in the first T20I, in the second they made 42 while in the third T20I they ended the fielding restrictions at 57. Their average powerplay score so far in the series has been 50. On the other hand, South Africa have registered scores of 61, 29 and 38 in the powerplay in the first three T20Is. Their average powerplay score comes down to 42.66 in the series. Based on this stat, India are expected to score over 50 while South Africa are predicted to score less than 50 in the fourth T20I.

5. Average Score

The average first innings score at this venue in T20Is is 183.33. If that is anything to go by, this is set to be a high-scoring game in Rajkot.
