The hosts have previously played only two pink-ball Test matches at home, and won both of them comprehensively. Indian players put on quite an impressive show in the first Test. While Ravindra Jadeja stole the limelight with his exceptional all-around performance, his inclusion in the fantasy team is mandatory. But, from India, there were other notable performers as well. While openers Rohit Sharma (29 off 28) and Mayank Agarwal (33 off 49) failed to make a mark, Hanuma Vihari (58 of 128) did pretty well at third position, and his inclusion in the squad should be considered. However, Rohit Sharma can outplay any set of bowlers in the world on any given day, due to which dropping him from the fantasy team can be dangerous. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are the other must picks from the side, as the latter came very close to a three-figure mark in the first game after being dismissed at 96 in 97 balls. Axar Patel's return will surely help the side as Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, and Patel will make a lethal trio. On the other side, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami will take care of the pace department.

Dimuth Karunaratne will have an uphill task after an embarrassing defeat against India in the first game. Visitors could not score more than 178 in front of lethal bowling from Indian bowlers in both innings. However, Pathum Nissanka's 61 in 133 balls in the first innings was the highest score from Lankan batters, and he could have been a great choice for a place in the Fantasy team but he has been ruled out. Angelo Mathews has rich experience, he has played 93 Tests and scored 6388 runs with the highest score of 200*, and also has 33 Test wickets. Although he is not in the best of his form, he can be considered due to his experience. Wicket-keeper batter Niroshan Dickwella is another player who can add valuable fantasy points as he played a vital 51-run knock in the 2nd innings. From the bowling department, Lakmal, Chamika Karunaratne and Embuldeniya can be considered.
