Time: 1:30pm IST

Venue: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Match Preview:

After a one-sided win in the first ODI and a close win in the second ODI, it helped India go 2-0 up in the series. The final ODI will be played on 11th Feb. West Indies will be looking to avoid clean-sweep whereas India would want to continue their winning streak under Rohit’s captaincy. West Indies need to get their batting unit covered. Their bowling department was very much under-control in the 2nd ODI but the batting was below par.

Pitch Report:

It is going to be difficult for both the teams to bat first. Batting in the lights would be easier. A lot of bounce and turn is available as seen in the previous 2 ODI’s as well. Expect the spinners to play an important role. Hence, don't be surprised to see both teams playing with an extra spinner.

Team Analysis:

India: Talking about the first ODI it was an all-around performance from both batters and the bowlers which helped team India to win convincingly, but this was not the case in the 2nd ODI. After losing the toss and being put to bat, India tried a new strategy by sending Rishabh Pant to open alongside Rohit Sharma. It was in the 3rd over when Rohit Sharma edged one to the keeper and was dismissed cheaply. Rishabh Pant lost his wicket while trying to go for the big shot. Kohli was also dismissed in the same over by Odean Smith. Then, the partnership of Suryakumar Yadav alongside KL Rahul took India to a fighting total of 237. The bowling department was excellent as all the six bowlers managed to get a wicket at least with Prasiddh Krishna getting 4 and winning it for team India.

West Indies: The first ODI was a game to forget for the Windies. They had to refresh their minds and come prepared for the second ODI. But the absence of Kieron Pollard did hurt the batting lineup of the team in the 2nd ODI. Similar to India, Windies players did well in the bowling department as all 6 bowlers managed to get at least a wicket. The dropped chance of KL Rahul by Shai Hope, when he was on 4, hurt the Windies. While chasing, Brandon King and Shadi Hope got off to a great start and were cruising along at 32-0 after 7 overs, and that's when Prasidh Krishna got into the act and dismissed Brandon King. Wickets kept falling regularly since then and it was the partnership of Shamarh Brooks and Akeal Hosein which got West Indies back into the game. Deepak Hooda was brought into the attack and dismissed the set Brooks in his first over itself which turned the match in India's favour. From there, wickets kept falling and West Indies were eventually bundled out for 193.

Probable Playing XI:

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna

West Indies: Brandon King, Shai Hope (wk), Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, Kemar Roach

Match Prediction:

Conclusion: India is expected to make it a clean sweep by winning the 3rd ODI as well.
