Indian women cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy who lost her mother,  Cheluvambda Devi due to COVID-19 two weeks back, suffered another big loss. Veda's sister who was battling COVID-19, passed away this morning on Thursday. However, the Bengaluru-based cricketer's entire family was infected by the deadly virus last month, Veda had tested negative later.

Veda Krishnamurthy's message after losing her mother

Indian women all-rounder Veda Krishnamurthy took to Twitter to confirm the demise of her mother. Although she urged well-wishers to continue prayers for her sister who had tested positive for COVID-19.

The Indian all-rounder has represented India in 48 ODIs and has played 76 T20s. In the 48 ODIs, Krishnamurthy has scored 829 runs at an average of 25.90. The 28-year-old was last seen in action on March 8, 2020 in the 2020 T20 Women's World Cup.
