[82′] YELLOW CARD for Isma. Chennai forward is the first player of the night to go in referee’s books for rough tackle on Machado.

[71′] DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION for Chennaiyin FC. Lanzarote and Edwin OFF, Thapa and Tangri ON.

[70′] Chennaiyin are doing everything possible to break the momentum of the game so that NorthEast don’t get a chance to build-up and come back in any way. This has led to side committing small fouls and gifting free kicks to Highlanders. However, men in white have squandered all the set piece opportunities till now.

SECOND-HALF: We are back at GMC. NorthEast United will kick-off the half. They are in White, playing from left to right.

The exciting first half has seen NorthEast United fall behind, and then come back again in time to strengthen the top-4 hopes. If the scoreline remains in favour of the Highlanders today, they will reach at 3rd in the points tally. Stay tuned to SportsTiger as we will be back for second half coverage.

HALF-TIME: Referee blows his whistle to end first half’s game. It is quite heated up at GMC Stadium as we have already witnessed 3 goals. It is Chennaiyin FC 1, NorthEast United 2.

[45′] 3 minutes added on to this already dramatic half.

[43′] GOOAALL!!! Deshorn Brown. WHAT A HIT!!! NorthEast United have taken the lead with a world class goal from Deshorn Brown. It is Chennai who get the set piece situation but NorthEast defence clear it out with a long ball upfront. A near empty Chennai third half sees only Sipovic and Brown fighting for ball, which the defender loses. From there on, Jamaican sprints with a ball and buries it in far post with a powerful shot. Assist – Khasa Camara. Chennaiyin FC 1, NorthEast United 2.

[36′] BLUNDER by Subhashish, but Lakra bails him out. NorthEast United goalkeeper had nearly gifted a goal to Chennai as he fails to catch an over hit free kick and ball falls generously just in front of goal line. However, Lakra is there on time to clear it out.

[29′] Kaith goes down after pulling off an excellent save! Chennaiyin will have to thank their keeper for keeping them at level in the game. Luis Machado had nearly got Highlanders ahead as he rushes with time and space inside box, and goes for a curler. Kaith outstretches and makes the save somehow but hits his head to post in the process. Fotunately, it is nothing serious and he is back on his feet.

[20′] The Highlanders are dominating the ball possession. Still, it will be unfair to consider Chennai as any less dominant because they are getting in dangerous positions as soon as they get ball at the feet.

[14′] GOOAALL!! Imran Khan. NorthEast United are back at level terms with a beautiful team goal. It is Luis Machado who does the majority of work here as he sprints down the left wing, drifts inside, and cuts back for forward at centre. Ball is quite low but Imran gets down to find the equalizer with a diving header. Assist – Luis Machado. Chennaiyin FC 1, NorthEast United 1.

[8′] GOOAALL!! Lallianzuala Chhangte. Marina Machans have drawn the first blood at GMC! The move starts with Jakub Sylvestr who collects ball just outside the box, and holds it strongly. He then spots Chhangte making a run, and slices a pass that lands straight at the feet of Indian. The youngster makes space and then buries at near post at once. Assist – Jakub Sylvestr. Chennaiyin FC 1, NorthEast United 0.

[5′] Quite conventional starting 5 minutes as both sides are trying to build-up slowly. Chennai managed to breach the box on a couple of occasions, but without avail.
