Preview:

As the climax of the Indian T20 League approaches us fast, there are no rest days even for the fans. After a double-header on Saturday, there is another double-header lined up for the fans on Sunday. The first match on the day will come your way live from Sharjah and will see Bangalore up against Punjab. While both teams haven't yet confirmed their Playoff qualification yet, Bangalore are closer to it than Punjab. A win for Bangalore and they would have more or less sealed the final four berth but Punjab cannot afford to make a mistake here and need to keep on winning their matches to have any chance of making it.

With the fight becoming more and more intense, expect Bangalore and Punjab to produce a humdinger of a match.

Analysis:

While losing Chris Gayle would have been a huge blow for Punjab, all eyes will be on the opening duo of Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul who have been consistently doing the bulk of the scoring for the team. In the bowling department too, Punjab have a lot of positives especially the way Arshdeep Singh has bowled in the competition during tough situations.

Approaching a must-win situation and in with a chance to make it to the final four, they have the experience of Mohammed Shami to bank on while Ravi Bishnoi has been superb with the ball too. Even Shahrukh Khan batted well under pressure and is almost certain of getting the remaining number of matches this season so it won't by any means be an easy push-off for Bangalore.

Meanwhile, Bangalore has seen everyone performing their roles to perfection. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal have been providing them with good starts while KS Bharath has grabbed on to his chances beautifully. The middle-order has the likes of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers with Maxwell even chipping in with his bowling and breaking partnerships.

The Bangalore side also has quality bowling with Yuzvendra Chahal determined to prove a point and Harshal Patel adding wickets after wickets to his already impressive tally. The stage is set for an exciting game between the two sides and it would be interesting to see who has the last laugh at Sharjah on Sunday evening

Dafabet Prediction of the Game:

Head to head: A quick look at this rivalry suggests that the teams have gone head to head against each other a total of 27 times and it is the Punjab side that has traditionally enjoyed a superior record. While Punjab have tasted wins in 15, Bangalore have won the other 12 games.

UAE factor: The UAE factor further shows how Punjab would fancy their chances of securing a win over Bangalore. The teams have played 3 matches in UAE and on all three occasions Punjab have emerged as the victor. Importantly, 2 of these three wins came as recent as in 2020 and that should be a huge confidence booster for Punjab.

Although Bangalore are looking really good, Punjab could win this one and add a bit more drama to the Playoffs race.
