The five-time champion Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings on April 13 at MCA Stadium in Pune. Rohit Sharma & Co. are still searching for their first win of the IPL 2022 season. They will now face the unpredictable Punjab Kings in their fifth match of the season and will hope to better their track record.
Nothing has gone in the favour of Mumbai Indians so far as they have lost four out of four matches and currently reeling at the 9th spot on the points table. They have registered losses against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. One more loss and their path to playoffs will be filled up with more challenges.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings had done reasonably well in the tournament as the side has lost two out of four games. PBKS opened up their IPL 2022 campaign after chasing a mammoth total against RCB, followed by a loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a low-scoring contest. Mayank Agarwal and his boys bounced back with a win against Chennai Super Kings, however, they again lost the track as they were thrashed by Gujarat Titans (GT). Punjab will be hoping to dismantle Mumbai Indians (MI) and bag another win.
For Mumbai Indians, Suryakumar Yadav has become the most valuable player in the side as, since his return, he has scored two fifty-plus scores in the league and rescued Mumbai from a back-to-back mini-collapse. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma should be picked for the fantasy squad as both the batters possess the potential to turn the game at any moment. Dewald Brevis and Kieron Pollard will have a huge responsibility in the middle order to stabilize the innings for their side. Pollard should be added to the squad as he can earn valuable fantasy points on any given day, while Brevis’ inclusion can depend on the available credit. On the other hand, Punjab Kings’ batters like Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, and Liam Livingstone must be considered for their batting potential, while Odean Smith, Rahul Chahar and Arshdeep Singh should be added for their recent performances in the tournament.
