Preview:

This is a crucial match for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they seek to climb up from the bottom of the points table. SRH have lost both of their matches narrowly to KKR and RCB and will be eager to open their points tally.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians pulled off a magical 10-run victory over KKR after losing to RCB in the season-opener. Mumbai managed to defend a below-par total of 152 as Rahul Chahar dismantled the KKR batting line-up with his four-wicket haul.

Pitch Report:

Team News

Mumbai:

Mumbai’s middle-order power house, consisting of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya has not performed at the level that is expected of them. However, the trio form a key part of the team and will deliver sooner rather than later.

Hyderabad:

Openers Wriddhiman Saha and Warner failed to get going against KKR in the first game and will look to make amends against RCB. England opener Jason Roy has joined the SRH squad after completing his mandatory quarantine and will be available for selection.

Analysis:

Mumbai haven’t looked in top form over the course of their last 2 matches. Their team combination is still very solid and they have got all the bases covered. Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard will again carry the responsibility of finishing the innings while Rahul Chahar and Trent Boult stifled KKR batsmen in the last game.

Captain David Warner returned back to form in style and scored 54 runs off 37 deliveries but the SRH middle-order collapsed after his dismissal. Chasing has been difficult for Sunrisers’ in the first two matches and they need to improve in the concerned areas if they are to emerge victorious against the defending champions.

Both the teams are evenly matched but Mumbai look slightly better placed to win this match. They would be banking on their stars to turn up for this game. The match is scheduled to be played at Chepauk and both teams will look to bat first after winning the toss. With the pitch expected to be a slow track, the best captain and vice-captain choices for this match will be Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Rashid Khan, Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar.
