Preview:

Match number 26 of the Indian T20 League will witness Punjab up against Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. While Punjab have blown hot and cold in the competition so far and have just two wins to their credit in six matches, Bangalore have looked a formidable team in the tournament so far and have won all their matches except the one against Chennai. In this game, the Virat Kohli-led side would look to continue their dominance and winning spree but Punjab would try desperately to be more consistent in their efforts and stitch a few wins together. All in all, an exciting game of cricket awaits us with the two teams looking in contrasting forms so far in the tournament.

Team News

Punjab:

As far as Punjab are concerned, they need more runs from the likes of Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran. Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda also hasn't been consistent enough. However, it would be a tricky call with regards to their team selection. There are no known injury or availability concerns.

Bangalore:

Despite the likes of Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson pulling out of the tournament, it is difficult to foresee any changes in their XI. Why fix something which isn't broken is the famous saying and it couldn't have been more true than for Bangalore.

Key Players:

Analysis:

AB de Villiers is in sublime form this season and should not only walk into one's fantasy XI but is even an ideal candidate for the captain/vice captain with him stationed behind the wickets. Meanwhile, despite the debate around KL Rahul's strike rate one can include him in the XI. Among the batters, Glenn Maxwell - the highest run scorer for Bangalore can fetch one great points. Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal and Mayank Agarwal can also be considered. Although Virat Kohli hasn't been at his best form, don't forget to rope him in the side if there's space and credit.

From the all-rounders section, Deepak Hooda and Washington Sundar could be automated picks but there is the option of Moises Henriques and Daniel Sams who are yet to show their prime form in the competition. As far as bowling is concerned, include the Purple Cap holder Harshal Patel in the side as he has been picking wickets in every match. Young Arshdeep Singh has been impressive too. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi are the spinning options to be considered from. While Chahal hasn't been at his best either, Bishnoi has looked a better bowler every time he was walked out to the field. Could be a tricky call with regards to Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj with so many options and make no mistake Chris Jordan is a utility option too given his ability with the bat.
