The over-dependence on the famed opening pair of KL Rahul and Mayank Aggarwal had costed Punjab last season and it is costing them this season too. Despite having a good middle order, the team completely banks on the top 2. Deepak Hooda has been a sensation for Punjab and his form is very vital. Nicholas Pooran has notched up scores of 0, 0 and 9 and is likely to pave way for Moises Henriques. Arshdeep Singh has been another important member of Punjab and conceded just 22 runs in his 3 overs last game and also picked up 1 wicket.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been the most consistent team of IPL in the recent past but so far in IPL 2021, they have got off to a horrendous start. They have lost 3 matches on the trot and this is a huge concern for Hyderabad. They effected 4 changes in the last game but that did not trigger any positive effect on the match result. Kane Williamson’s exclusion has been a talking point and his presence in the middle order can do wonders for the SRH franchise, especially at a pitch like Chepauk.
