Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the Indian cricket team's new 'Billion Cheers Jersey' for the men’s T20 World Cup on Wednesday. On the same day of the jersey release, it was displayed on the iconic Burj Khalifa just hours after the the unveiling. Notably, Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building, standing 830 metres tall.

While unveiling the jersey, BCCI had revealed that the design for the prussian and royal blue jersey was inspired by the billion cheers of Indian fans. The new jersey replaces the retro jersey, the 1992 World Cup-themed kit which the Indian team had been wearing since late 2020.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said, “The Indian cricket team enjoys support not just in India but around the world, and there’s no better way to celebrate their excitement and energy than through this jersey. This will undoubtedly provide the team with the much-needed enthusiastic support in their quest to emerge as the T20 champions of the world.”

The image of the Indian players wearing the new jersey shined bright in the evening lights on the Burj Khalifa. As soon as the jersey was showcased on Burj Khalifa, pictures of the same flooded the internet. The pics went viral in no time as fans shared their views on social media.
