In a shocking development, International Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambian was allegedly shot dead during a Kabaddi match in Malian, Punjab on Monday. Sandeep, who hailed from Ambiyan village, was killed by unidentified assailants during a Kabaddi Cup at Malian village in Jalandhar at 6 PM. It has been learnt that around 20 rounds were fired on his head and chest. As per reports, the goons that attacked the Kabaddi player were around 12 in number.

Jalandhar (Rural) Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nakodar) Lakhwinder Singh has confirmed the report. Police suspect eight to ten bullets were pumped into the Kabaddi player. They said a further investigation was underway.

Sandeep Singh Nangal has represented India in several matches and captained the national team at specific tournaments. He resided in England and his family and had come to his village to attend the tournament when the incident took place.
