Australian cricketers Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson will return to Australia for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of IPL season. Royal Challengers Bangalore informed of the development on Monday morning through their social media handle.

Earlier, fast bowler AJ Tye had requested a release from the Rajasthan Royals on personal grounds.

According to reports, Australian players were becoming increasingly nervous for their safety amid an explosion in coronavirus cases in India, which has seen oxygen supplies run devastatingly low and hundreds of thousands of new cases reported each day.

Nathan Coulter-Nile staying with Mumbai Indians

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile has decided to stay with his franchise. He opened up on Adam Zampa's decision to return home, "I spoke to Zamps a little while ago and he made a very compelling argument for going home. But for me, I feel like it's safer for me to stay in the bubble than try and get home at the moment."

On Sunday, Delhi Capitals off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also decided to take a break from the IPL to help his family and extended family, who are "putting up a fight against Covid-19."
