Cricket receives massive fan following in India- a land of a billion. That’s the reason not only do the cricketers but even the people associated with the sport- like the umpires, commentators, presenters and sometimes even curator- get recognition from the crazy Indian cricket fan. But while these people enjoy almost a celebrity status in the country, they are also under immense pressure to perform.
Cricketer-turned commentator Aakash Chopra is usually a fan favourite with his distinct style of voicing his opinion. However, a blunder from his end has forced the Twitterati to troll him. While analysing the Kolkata Knight Riders squad ahead of IPL 2021, Chopra’s YouTube video showed Indian cricketer Sheldon Jackson as an overseas option while keeping Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as a domestic cricketer. “Abey Gujarat se hai wo,” wrote a Twitter user.

Fans dig out Chopra’s old mistakes after this video
Meanwhile, fans are also digging out Chopra’s old mistakes. Notably, in a question answer session on Twitter, when asked his four overseas pick in the Playing XI for RCB, the former KKR star had included SRH’s David Warner in his list. Although he was quick to point out that he meant Glenn Maxwell and it was only a typo, fans got yet another topic to troll him.
Chopra currently under quarantine
The former India cricketer is currently undergoing quarantine and will be part of the broadcast team for the upcoming IPL 2021. Despite a few of these errors on his part, he remains a popular figure among the Indian cricket lovers and keeps on entertaining fans with his commentary.
