IPL 2021 will kick-start on Friday in Chennai with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season-opener.

All the games will be played at neutral venues behind closed doors. After nearly two long years, the extravaganza will return to India with Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai & Kolkata hosting the cash-rich league. Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the tournament was contested in the UAE.

The Narendra Modi Cricket stadium in Ahmedabad will host the Playoff matches on May 25, May 26 and May 28, and the final on May 30.

The night matches begin at 7.30 pm IST, while the afternoon matches start at 3.30 pm IST. There will be a total of 11 double-headers.
