Sunrisers Hyderabad opened their account in IPL 2021 finally with a comprehensive win against Punjab Kings. Kings just managed to score 120 runs in their 1st innings with all their batsmen failing miserably. Mayank Agarwal and Shahrukh Khan top-scored for Punjab with 22 runs each. SRH bowlers were impressive as usual with Rashid Khan being the most economical bowler and Khaleel Ahmed picking 3 wickets to lead the bowling chart. SRH comfortably won the match by 9 wickets with Bairstow's authoritative innings of 63*(56).
