The 15th match of IPL 2021 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings ended up as an entertaining high-scoring thriller. It had all the elements that one would ask for in a T20 match. After winning the toss, KKR invited CSK to bat and the opening pair of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis laid a solid foundation for CSK with 115-run partnership. CSK ended up posting a mammoth total of 220 runs on the board.
Chasing the humongous total, KKR at one stage were reeling at 31/5 and looked like they would lose heavily but Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik and Pat Cummins played valiant cameos and gave some fight to CSK. However, with little contribution from the top-order, KKR ultimately fell short by a slender margin of 18 runs.
