Former KKR all-rounder Rajat Bhatia has revealed his top four teams in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League, who he thinks will make it to playoffs in 2021. The first half of the season has produced some nail-biting action as the teams are fighting it out to seal the all-important spot in top four.

Bhatia feels the top two teams will continue their impressive run

During an interaction with SportsTiger, Bhatia revealed his prediction. The 41-year-old has been really impressed with Delhi Capitals who are currently at top of the points table with 6 wins in 8 matches and are leading the race to finish in top two. On the other hand, Bhatia is certain that MS Dhoni's side will progress further despite their defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians, courtesy Kieron Pollard's heroics. The cricket expert has been very vocal about MS Dhoni's brilliant leadership which has been influential in CSK's comeback this season after last year's disappointment.

Bhatia predicts no anti-climax in the business end of IPL 2021

While DC and CSK are the two obvious choices, the former cricketer has also backed Royal Challengers Bangalore to make it to playoffs, despite their recent dip in form which saw them losing two of the last three matches. However, the 41-year-old believes that Virat Kohli's side are still very well placed in the points table with 5 wins in 7 matches and should go through. Notably, third-placed RCB are behind CSK on net run-rate. For the final team to make it to playoffs, Bhatia has chosen 5-time champions Mumbai Indians ahead of Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Hence, it seems like that Bhatia is not expecting a turnaround from any of the bottom four teams and has backed the current top four teams to go through to the playoffs. It will be interesting to see what actually happens in the later stages of IPL 2021. The league is known for its twists and turns towards the business end of every season which if happens, could make things really interesting this year. Let's wait and watch!
