Match no. 11 between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings is going to be another run-fest as the swashbuckling batsman Steve Smith is all set to make his debut for Delhi Capitals. Smith was the skipper of Rajasthan Royals earlier, but the franchise released him prior to the mini-auction for IPL 2021 in Chennai a few months ago.

Delhi bought him in the auction but he didn't get the chance to play earlier. Delhi Capitals got off to a flying start under the new captain Rishabh Pant in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a convincing win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) but faced a big blow in the very next game, where they suffered a three-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals.

With the league progressing, they certainly wouldn't want to face another defeat and a few changes were on cards, one of them was Steve Smith's inclusion.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have won the toss and have opted to field first as well. "In the second innings there is dew, so we need to make the use of the first 10 overs. I have been talking with the senior players and Ricky Ponting. Two changes. Smith comes in for Curran. Meriwala also comes in. Smith can help us at the top", Rishabh Pant said after the toss.
