It wasn't an ideal start to the tournament for Punjab Kings' Nicholas Pooran. Although the 25-year-old has already made his name as one of the finest and cleanest hitters of the cricket ball, he didn't know how to find a run in the tournament. Despite receiving the backing of the team management for the initial matches, at last, Punjab did not have a choice but to bench him. However, IPL 2021 was suspended in a quick turn of events and now Pooran has opened up on his horror run.

The southpaw admitted that the reasons behind the suspension of IPL 2021 are heartbreaking but necessary. He also hoped to see the return of the tournament soon but pledged to come back stronger after a disappointing run with the bat in the given opportunities. Notably, in the seven matches he played, Pooran managed just 28 runs. He was far from his best form and got out for a duck on 4 occasions.

September and November two options to host the remaining IPL matches

Meanwhile, late September and late November are the two window options that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can explore to host the remaining matches of IPL 2021. With 31 matches remaining, close to 3 weeks with multiple double-headers across a few venues could be enough to finish the tournament. Meanwhile, India, England and UAE are the possible countries where the remaining fixtures can happen.
