The wait for Team Ahmedabad fans has finally ended. The CVC Capital-owned team on Wednesday announced its official name three days prior to the mega auction. The team officials made its fans wait for so long as the second new team, Lucknow had announced its official name way back on 24th January, Nonetheless, the name chosen by the officials is Gujarat Titans. The official announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon.

Now, since the name has finally been revealed, we have all the ten teams all geared up for the mega auction on 12 and 13 February. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Gujarat Titans are the ten teams who will take part in the Indian Premier League from 15th edition and onwards.

Hardik Pandya to lead Gujarat Titans, Ashish Nehra head coach

While the CVC Capital-owned franchise took a lot of time to decide on its official name, it did not take that much time in choosing its skipper. They have trusted the local boy, Hardik Pandya with the leadership role. Pandya has been signed by the franchise for a whopping 15 Crores. Apart from Hardik, Ahmedabad have chosen Rashid Khan (15 Crores) and Shubman Gill (7 Crores) as their two other draft picks. The other staff members were also announced long ago. Former India pacer Ashish Nehra has been appointed as the head coach of the team while Gary Kirsten, world cup winning coach for India, has been appointed as the mentor. Vikram Solanki is the Director of Cricket of Gujarat Titans.

Now, with all other formalities done, the team will try to focus on the mega event i.e. the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Only three days are left before the event takes place in Bengaluru. Ahmedabad team management will be itching to take part in the auction as they look to build a complete squad that can do wonders for them in their first season.
