Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra, who is part of the IPL 2022 commentary panel, has tested positive for COVID-19. Chopra took to his Twitter to reveal the news. “After dodging the bullet for nearly two years…I have also succumbed to the C Virus. Yups. Symptoms are mild thus far… should be back on the saddle soon,” Chopra tweeted.

Aakash, who is famous for his unique style of cricket analysis, has been a consistent member of the commentary setup over the past few years. He’s been handling the duties for the official broadcasters in Hindi language in IPL 2022.

Several fans from the cricketing world wished Aakash a speedy recovery. They’ve replied to the commentator’s tweet and hoped to hear from him soon. Fellow commentator Harsha Bhogle has also expressed his concern and suggested Aakash to take care.

Even though he’s been down with Covid, he is constantly following the matches and tweeting about the updates.

“Five-time champions. Four-time champions. Both started the #IPL2022 with two consecutive losses. That’s why it’s imperative to view this season in isolation…with the past laurels counting for precious little. Big auctions can do that…often do that” he posted on Twitter soon after MI lost to the Royals.

Aakash assured his fans that his symptoms are mild thus far and will be back in the commentary box soon.
