CSK recorded their first win of IPL 2022 in some style as their batters Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube powered them to a total of 216/4. Initially, RCB winning the toss invited CSK to bat first and Chennai were struggling in the powerplay overs and lost 2 quick wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali thus they were reeling at 60/2 after 10-over mark.

What followed in the next 10 overs from Uthappa and Dube was absolute carnage as Uthappa smashed 88 runs off 50 balls which comprised of 9 sixes while Shivam Dube smashed unbeaten knock of 95 from 46 balls also comprising of 8 big sixes in the innings. Akash Deep conceded 58 runs off his 4-over bowling quota and let down his side. Senior pacer like Siraj also bowled unimpressive lengths and absence of Harshal Patel was felt very well.

Chennai in second innings also dominated terrifically with the ball as they ended up picking 3 quick wickets inside the powerplay itself and reduced the side to 42/3 inside 6 overs. Maxwell kept firing going all guns blazing but he also got bowled out to Jadeja very soon and post that Shahbaz Ahmed and Suyash Prabhudessai’s partnership kept the RCB’s hopes alive and powered the momentum of team.

Prabhudessai was looking unbelievable on his debut game itself as he smashed 34 off 18 balls while Dinesh Karthik’s quick-fire 34 as well kept the side in contention until he was caught by Ravindra Jadeja in deep.
