Even though fans are making peace with the fact that Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni have decided to hand over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja moving forward, there are some former cricketers and pundits having their reservations against the decision.

While Virat Kohli's childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma said that a good cricketer need not necessarily be a good captain, former Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer Rajat Bhatia stated that handing Jadeja the captaincy a little over 48 hours before the start of the IPL 2022 opener between CSK and KKR wasn't a good sign.

Bhatia made the statement in SportsTiger's pre-match show live which premiered on Youtube as well as Facebook.

Meanwhile, Jadeja failed to win the toss in his captaincy debut for CSK. This means that Kolkata Knight Riders' Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first. While KKR have picked only three out of the maximum four overseas players in their Playing XI, CSK have utilised their entire quota of overseas players.

Playing XIs for the IPL 2022 opener:
