RCB biggest loss Chahal

Former India and IPL star Virender Sehwag believes that the Royal Challengers Bangalore haven't made a wise decision by parting ways with their leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. While Bangalore will play their first game in this season of the T20 tournament later this evening, Sehwag is already convinced that letting go of the Chahal was Bangalore's biggest loss.

Sehwag made this statement while sharing his views on Cricbuzz.

"Their biggest loss has been Yuzvendra Chahal. He was their best player on small pitches like Bengaluru or in Dubai. He used to take the most wickets on those grounds. He was the most economical bowler on those grounds. If I was part of RCB, I wouldn't have thought about letting go Chahal, for any price," Sehwag said.

"I can understand the retention policy and all. Chahal was their key bowler. I can understand Siraj being retained, he is now part of the Indian team, he is getting that experience but when the entire responsibility falls on one person's shoulders, it becomes difficult," he added.

One man's loss is another man's gain they say and the same could prove to be true as Rajasthan Royals have roped in Chahal at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for INR 6.50 crore. Chahal will get to share the dressing room with veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who was also bagged by Rajasthan at the auctions.

Rajasthan will begin their IPL 2022 campaign against SunRisers Hyderabad on March 29.
