With the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) into its business end, every match becomes crucial for all ten teams. Match No 66 will have Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) up against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). This game is equally important for both teams considering the qualifications scenario. While KKR are aiming to keep their hopes alive with a big win. Lucknow want the ‘Q’ against their name.

KKR have the momentum with two back-to-back convincing wins over Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Meanwhile, LSG are coming on the back of two big losses to Gujarat and Rajasthan. So, who is the favorite to win Wednesday’s clash and what do the odds say? Let’s find out.

1. Toss Prediction

The coin has not been kind to Lucknow’s skipper KL Rahul as he has lost four of the last five tosses. Meanwhile, Kolkata’s captain Shreyas Iyer has won three out of the last five tosses. So, clearly, Iyer has an edge over Rahul when it comes to the flip of the coin and thus, he remains the favorite to win it once again on Wednesday.

2. Win Possibility

Well, the momentum is clearly with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they are coming on the back of two big wins. On the other hand, LSG have been handed defeats in their last two games. So, KKR will have an edge over LSG when the two teams meet on Wednesday (18 May).

3. Team of the Day

It looks like a tough choice to make with both teams’ top order struggling and their bowlers equally good. But, KKR seem to have an edge here too with their players giving winning performances.

4. Powerplay Score

The average powerplay score at DY Patil Stadium has been 42.6, to be precise. Meanwhile, KKR, on average, have scored 42.3 runs in their first six overs. Lucknow, on the other hand, have managed 43.4 runs in the first six overs of every game they have played this season. So, for KKR the powerplay score in Match 65 is expected to be 40-45 runs while for LSG it is expected to be above 50 runs.

5. Average first and second innings score

The average first innings score at DY Patil Stadium in the last five games has been 167 while the average second innings score at the venue has been 135.6.
