Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their second consecutive game of IPL 2022 to Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs despite good performance from their bowlers like Washington Sundar and T.Natarajan. SRH winning the toss invited LSG to bat first and inside powerplay itself SRH managed to have got 3 quick wickets of Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis and Manish Pandey. Sundar's extraordinary bowling in powerplay paid dividends for them as LSG were totally struggling. However, KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda's 87-run partnership brought them back into the game which helped LSG to post a respectable total of 169 runs on board.

SRH didn't have that intent to go for the attacking shots in chase as only Rahul Tripathi seemed to be fighting lonely for his team's cause and later Pooran smashed 34 runs which helped them to come close to LSG's 1st innings total, while Aiden Markram despite being at the crease for longtime with Rahul Tripathi struggled to get those big shots as he ended up scoring only 12 runs from 14 balls. Avesh Khan was star player of the game as he picked 4 crucial wickets of Kane Williamson, Abhishek Sharma, Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad in tandem. Krunal Pandya played a key role in breaking the partnership of Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram while Jason Holder bowled the last over at a situation when he had 15 runs to defend and he ended up conceding just 3 runs picked 3 wickets.
