Pitch Report

This is set to be the third game of the season at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Dew has played a vital part in the games so far with batting becoming easier as the game progresses. For pacers, there will be some help early on while the spinners will also play a vital role.

Team analysis

Punjab Kings:

Odean Smith's 25 from 8 balls had helped Punjab Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets in their first match of the season. However, in their second game, they suffered a 6-wicket defeat against KKR. Punjab Kings set a target of 138 for Kolkata Knight Riders after Bhanuka Rajapaksa top-scored for Kings with 31 off just 9 balls. However, other Punjab batters failed to make a meaningful contribution.

Jonny Bairstow is also available and after the lackluster batting display against KKR, Bairstow is likely to be given an opportunity. Shahrukh Khan, Liam Livingstone and Raj Bawa need to perform better with the bat. PBKS also have some work to do with their bowling as their bowlers were smacked all over the park by Russell in last match.

SportsTiger Playing XI of PBKS:

Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal (Captain), Bhanuka Rajapaksa (wk), Liam Livingstone/Jonny Bairstow, Raj Bawa, Shahrukh Khan, Odean Smith, Harpreet Brar, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar.

Chennai Super Kings:

CSK performed well in their last match but they were undone by Lucknow's brilliant batting. CSK set up a challenging total of 210 as Robin Uthappa smashed a 27-ball 50 while Shivam Dube scored an aggressive 49 off 30 balls. The turning point of the match came when Lewis and Badoni smashed Shivam Dube for 25 runs in the penultimate over to take the match away from CSK.

CSK are likely to continue with the same team combination. CSK batters have been good but their bowlers need to step up. Ruturaj Gaikwad needs to play better as his twin failures at the top of the order haven't helped his team.

SportsTiger Playing XI of CSK

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (wk), Ravindra Jadeja (c), Shivam Dube, Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius, Mukesh Choudhary, Tushar Deshpande

Match Prediction:

Conclusion

Power-packed Punjab look the strong favourites to win this match due to their strong batting lineup. But CSK are perfectly capable of pulling an upset if their players can bring their A-game to the park.
