Team Analysis

Mumbai Indians:

The five-time champions are having a tough time in this 15th edition of IPL. They are yet to get a win. Nothing seems to be working for the Rohit Sharma-led team. Their opening pair is also not clicking. Ishan Kishan looks pale after two good innings while captain Sharma is failing to capitalize on the starts, he is getting. Dewald Brevis has shown some promise at No.3 but he is too young to handle that position. Kieron Pollard has also struggled big time. The bowling unit is also not coming together. Barring Jasprit Bumrah, no bowler looks like a match winner. MI management has gone with 2 or 3 overseas options so far. It will be interesting to see if they make a change for Lucknow game.

Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Fabian Allen, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah, Tymal Mills, Basil Thampi

Lucknow Super Giants:

Lucknow don't have a lot of things to correct. They just need to sort the batting order. The management made some absurd decisions in their game against Rajasthan which they would like to avoid in the future. With the return of Marcus Stoinis, LSG's batting lineup has only got better. With KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock opening the innings, Stoinis can walk in at No.3. Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, and Jason Holder make a strong middle and lower-middle order. The bowling lineup is also sound with Avesh Khan, Dushmantha Chameera, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi, and K Gowtham are also doing their respective jobs.

Match Prediction

Conclusion

MI have struggled to get going this season and they don't have enough backups to replace misfiring players as well. Meanwhile, LSG have things sorted giving them an edge over MI.
