Preview
After quite a few hiccups, the 34th match of IPL 2022 has been moved to Wankhede Stadium from MCA Stadium. Delhi Capitals camp have been hit with a few COVID cases but still, the Rishabh Pant-led team came out with flying colors in their last game against Punjab Kings. On the other hand, Rajasthan are coming out of a thrilling win against Kolkata Knight Riders. The Sanju Samson-led team will hope to replicate a similar kind of performance when they meet DC on Friday evening.
Pitch Report
Among all four stadiums in IPL 2022, the Wankhede Pitch is the slowest one. The average first innings score here has been around 160. For bowlers, there is something to exploit. Pacers can come in handy with their slower ones while it can be a bit tricky for spinners.
Team Analysis
Delhi Capitals:
After their emphatic victory over Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals will be pumped up. They did not put a foot wrong in that game and had contributions from almost everyone. Bowlers did a brilliant job to restrict the opposition to 115. After that, the batters, especially the two openers, put on a show to win the match in 11 overs. However, there are still some concerns for DC that they would want to address. Rovman Powell is yet to play a big inning. Shardul Thakur has also not looked that potent.
SportsTiger Playing XI of DC
Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Sarfraz Khan, Lalit Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed
Rajasthan Royals:
Rajasthan Royals have only one man to thank for their impressive batting performances this season. Jos Buttler has owned the league so far with his brilliant knocks. He already has two centuries in six games. He is way ahead of his competitors in the orange cap race. But this can also be a worry for the Royals. The day Buttler fails to score big, RR will find themselves in lot of trouble. In bowling, Sanju Samson has the two best brains in R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. The duo showed it against KKR. Trent Boult's ability to swing the ball also comes in handy at the start of the innings.
SportsTiger Playing XI of RR
Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Karun Nair, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, R Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Obed McCoy, Yuzvendra Chahal
Match Prediction
Conclusion
Although DC have found the momentum, it won't be easy to go past RR which looks like a formidable side at the moment.
