It will be a battle of the Kings when Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings meet in Match 38 of IPL 2022. While one team is coming on the back of a humiliating win another defeated their biggest enemy. Punjab Kings were hammered all around the park by Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings came victorious against Mumbai Indians in their last game. Now, both teams will look to capitalize on the opportunity in front of them with the league stage going in full flow. Punjab will have their last win in mind against CSK, but the defending champions will hope to turn it around.

Pitch Report

The Wankhede Stadium pitch has been on the slower side in this tournament. The batters have had their fair share of struggles against pacers. The same is expected in the game between Punjab and Chennai.

Team Analysis

Punjab Kings:
The Mayank Agarwal-led team looked flawless in the initial games but their strategy to go after bowlers even with wickets falling came to bite them in their last game. Now, they will look for Plan B when they meet Chennai Super Kings on Monday. The opening pair of Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan is not getting along well. Jonny Bairstow’s inclusion has not worked for Punjab. They will look to bring back Bhanuka Rajapaksa. Shahrukh Khan has also failed to deliver continuously. The bowling attack is not looking potent like other teams as Kagiso Rabada has not stepped up to the challenges.

SportsTiger Playing XI of PBKS

Mayank Agarwal (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Prerak Mankad, Odean Smith, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh, Vaibhav Arora

Chennai Super Kings:
Although Chennai were able to defeat Mumbai in their last game, they will have a few things to rectify. Gaikwad going cheaply once again was an ominous sign. Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu have also been hot and cold. Ravindra Jadeja’s form is the biggest concern. The all-rounder needs to fire desperately. In the bowling department, things went as planned against Mumbai and CSK management won’t risk chopping and changing a winning combination unless there is an injury.

SportsTiger Playing XI of CSK

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja (c), MS Dhoni (wk), Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorious, Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary

Match Prediction

Chennai have got the momentum back and the winning combination looks capable of beating Punjab on a given day.
