The most successful team of IPL 2022 so far, Gujarat Titans will take on Punjab Kings in their tenth game of the season on 3rd May. The Hardik Pandya-led team has done wonders as they have lost only one game out of nine played. On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings have won four out of nine games played. They still have their playoff hopes alive but it won’t be an easy task for them to go past a dominating Gujarat.
The DY Patil pitch has been among those that have offered something to the batters. The average first innings total here has been around 170. Bowlers also have got some help when they have bowled in the right areas. So, the pitch for Gujarat vs Punjab game is also expected to offer a balanced game.
The Hardik Pandya-led team has found a different match-winner in almost every game. Players have stood up for their respective roles and that has been the reason behind the team’s success. However, there have been some consistent performers as well. Rahul Tewatia has been one such player who has done immensely well in all games played. He has now won multiple matches with his finishing abilities. Captain Hardik Pandya has also been among the runs. But there are a few concerns to address. Shubman Gill is struggling to get big runs. GT’s premium spinner Rashid Khan has also not looked his usual best. The table-toppers will want to get these issues resolved before the knockouts begin.

The Kings have had a hot-and-cold season so far. In a few games, they have looked like a flawless unit while in some they have struggled big time. In their last game against Lucknow, Punjab failed to chase 154. In fact, they have won only one game chasing this season. None of their players have performed consistently. Mayank Agarwal himself has looked gloomy. PBKS bowlers have also not come together in most of the games. However, there is nothing much the management can do as they have limited resources. The Mayank Agarwal-led side will look to improve their performance and move up in the points table when they face Gujarat.

Gujarat have been a force to reckon with this season and thus they will remain the favorites to win Tuesday’s clash.
