Preview

Delhi Capitals (DC) kept their playoff hopes alive by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their last league game. They put on a show with the bat and then caught SRH short by 21 runs. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) dreadful run continued in IPL 2022 with them losing their 7th game of the season. Although they have the slightest chance of qualifying for the knockouts, the MS Dhoni-led side will try their level best to get the results in their favor. For Delhi, losing the game is not an option as it can knock them out of the playoff race.

Pitch Report

The DY Patil Stadium pitch is always good to bat on with runs on offer. Bowlers usually don't get much help here but if tried hard, pacers have been able to extract something out of it. The CSK vs DC game will also have a similar kind of pitch where batters will feel the ball on the bat.

Team Analysis

Chennai Super Kings

Not much has gone Chennai's way this season as the defending champions have lost seven out of ten games. They have not been able to capitalize on the momentum. While initially, bowling was an issue, it is irresponsible batting that has cost them the last few games. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway are doing a fair job at the top, but the middle order is not building on the start. Finishing has also been an issue for CSK with Ravindra Jadeja struggling big time. CSK have missed the services of Shivam Dube who has been out with an injury. MS Dhoni will hope for him to make a comeback against Delhi.

SportsTiger Playing XI of CSK

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Dwaine Pretorious, Maheesh Theekshana, Simarjeet Singh, Mukesh Choudhary

Delhi Capitals

The Capitals put on a show against Hyderabad as they aggregated 207 runs from their 20 overs. David Warner was the man in focus for his 92*off 58 balls. Rovman Powell also showed his power with a blistering 67* (35). In bowling, Khaleel Ahmed made a statement with his three-wicket haul on the comeback. There were not many things to worry about for DC in their last game. However, throughout the season, DC have blown hot and cold. Rishabh Pant is yet to play a big inning. Although Shaw did not play the last game, his way of dismissal has been an issue for DC. Nonetheless, DC will back themselves to get the job done against CSK.

Match Prediction

Conclusion

Considering CSK's form this season and the issues they have faced, DC will be the favourite to win Sunday's game.
