After facing a humiliating defeat in their last game, Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals now have to go past Rajasthan Royals in order to keep themselves in the hunt for the playoff. However, it won’t be an easy task considering Rajasthan’s form and Delhi’s luck this season. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan won’t be much stressed knowing they have a good net run rate and decent points.
The DY Patil Stadium pitch has aided the batters, especially in the first innings. However, with the match progressing, the pitch has gotten a tad slow helping the bowlers. Pacers have averaged better at this venue. So, Match 58 is also expected to have a similar kind of pitch.
The 2008 champions have played some good cricket this season and that’s the reason they have remained in the top half of the points table. Jos Buttler’s heroics with the bat and Yuzvednra Chahal’s magic with the ball have been working so far for RR. However, too much reliance on one or two players is never good for a team. Nonetheless, RR have the bases covered with enough options in both departments. While captain Sanju Samson has stepped up, when necessary, in batting, Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishan have inflicted the damage with the ball. Now with only three games left in the league stage, RR will look to keep their best players in the best shape.

The Delhi Capitals’ batting lineup failed to live up to the expectations as they were bundled out for a mere 117 against CSK. None of their batters showed a sense of calmness in the middle and that cost them the game. This has been the story for DC throughout this season. This has also resulted in some close losses. Captain Rishabh Pant himself has perished multiple times playing a loose shot. Now, with their playoff hopes almost crushed DC will look to bring their A-game against RR. There is no update on Prithvi Shaw so, KS Bharat may continue with David Warner at the top. Ripal Patel might make way for Sarfraz Khan in the middle order.

David Warner, KS Bharat, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Sarfraz Khan, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Anrich Nortje
Rajasthan Royals have the star aligned in their favor against Delhi Capitals and thus, they remain the favorites to win the Wednesday clash.
