Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 3 wickets in a low-scoring thriller at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday. After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Bangalore restricted Kolkata to 128. Wanindu Hasaranga (4/20) was the pick of the bowlers for RCB. Veteran all-rounder Andre Russell top-scored for KKR as he smashed 25 runs off 18 balls. Akash Deep and Harshal Patel scaled three and two wickets respectively.

In Bangalore's run chase, Tim Southee (3/20) and Umesh Yadav (2/16) caused troubles but Dinesh Karthik (14*) finished it off. Sherfane Rutherford top-scored for RCB with 28 while Ahmed made 27. Harshal Patel also played a big role with the bat as he hit two boundaries in the 19th over when RCB had needed 15 runs from 8 balls.  7 runs to win off the last over.
