However, in their last game against GT, LSG batters kneeled down to some good bowling. Nonetheless, the message from the management will be to take learnings and move forward. The opening pair of QDK and KL Rahul have faired decently. Deepak Hooda has also done well at No.3. However, the middle order looks a bit unsettled with Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya not stepping up. Marcus Stoinis has been underutilized and the management will look to fix his batting position as soon as possible.

With Shimron Hetmyer out of the bubble, RR is also lacking a finisher. Against DC, RR management’s ploy to promote Ashwin in the batting order worked but that doesn’t look like a feasible option in the long run. Also, the contribution from the lower middle order has been never enough this season. Now, with a playoff berth at stake, RR will be under the pump to win against LSG.
