In the last league game of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Although both teams have been knocked out, they will give their best to outclass the other in their last league game of the season. While Hyderabad broke their five-match losing streak against Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings were handed a defeat by Delhi Capitals to bury their hopes of qualifying for the playoff. Nonetheless, it will be an interesting battle between two teams with extraordinary talent.
The Wankhede pitch is getting slower and slower as the tournament is nearing its end. But one of the pitches has produced some high-scoring games. Nevertheless, with the pitch being on the slower side, batters will face difficulty in accumulating runs. Meanwhile, bowlers will try to use the sluggishness to their benefit.
The Kane Williamson-led team showed immense grit against MI to win the game by three runs. First, their batters put on a show and then their bowlers defended the target successfully. While Rahul Tripathi and Priyam Garg were too good with the bat, Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar did the job with the ball in hand. Now, with SRH knocked out, the team will try to play fearless cricket with nothing to lose. However, they will miss the services of Kane Williamson in captaincy as the Kiwi cricketer is back home. The management has not yet revealed their captain for the last league game. Nonetheless, whoever replaces Williamson will look to finish the season on a high. SRH won’t be making any changes other than Williamson’s replacement.

Punjab have had an unpredictable season so far. While in some matches, they have played like a champion team, in some games, they have been completely blown away. Their last game against Delhi was a summary of their season. They did well to restrict the team to a decent total but then succumbed to the pressure. Now with the last game of the season left, Mayank Agarwal’s men will look to put on a show at the Wankhede. They have the firepower to do it. Jonny Bairstow’s promotion has worked well while Liam Livingstone has been too hot to handle. However, Mayank himself has not performed to his potential which he would love to do against SRH. Talking about the changes to the eleven, Punjab may give some new faces a chance.

Both teams have had same kind of tournament but SRH have looked good when they have won games. Also, the momentum is with the Orange Army and hence, they are the favorite.
