It has been a disappointing season for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Even the use of the word disappointed might seem a little understated as the five-time champions have failed to win a single game so far in the seven matches that they have competed in. To make matters worse, the Blue and Gold Brigade's captain Rohit Sharma has already been fined twice for maintaining a slow over-rate.

However, it is now being reported that the Hitman is likely to be been banned for one match for the third such offence this season.

This means the 34-year-old could miss Mumbai's next match against Luckow Super Giants on Sunday. This match is set to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In Rohit's absence, Kieron Pollard is expected to lead the side as he has done in the past when Rohit had to miss a few games due to fitness concerns.

While Rohit hasn't been in great form with the bat but his proven leadership acumen in the past could have proven handy for Mumbai in this situation. In 7 matches so far, Mumbai's opener has accumulated only 114 runs and got out to duck in the last match against Chennai.

He is yet to score his first fifty of the season and has struggled for runs, even though he has looked in good nick and a got a few starts.

For now, MI continue to be at the bottom of the points table with no points and a net run rate of -0.892.
