IPL’s latest entrants Ahmedabad franchise will announce its official name tomorrow (February 09) afternoon live on Star Sports (12:30 pm). Earlier, speculations were doing the rounds regarding Ahmedabad Titans, which was said to be the official name of the newly inducted franchise. As per new reports suggesting, the franchise owned by CVC Capital Partner will put all the speculations at rest on Wednesday afternoon.
While another new entrant Lucknow franchise has already announced its official name as Lucknow Super Giants. The players' auction for this year's IPL is slated to take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. The addition of two new teams, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, have made the cash-rich league a 10-team affair. Ahmedabad IPL team have already confirmed their draft picks and support staff for IPL 2022. Ahmedabad has signed all-rounder Hardik Pandya (Captain), Afghanistan leggie Rashid Khan and young batter Shubman Gill as their three draft picks. Pandya and Khan have earned a contract of Rs 15 crore, while the franchise shelled out Rs 8 crore for Shubman Gill.
